Late Night Production

I have been very unproductive late at night recently. This is not good considering my wait to the last minute system of working. I am supposed to be working on a painting right now, something I enjoy, but I just find myself distracting myself with the internet.  Oh well, I'll get my shit together...

I just found this great picture though

I feel dumb looking when I wear white sneakers and jeans...

I wish Eric Hutchinson would release a new album soon. If you don't know who Eric Hutchinson is he came out with a very solid debut piano heavy jazz album called Sounds Like This.

This song is definitely worth hearing:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm5TZX5hz3g

He also has a blog where he lists his favorite things and in September Charleston was one of them.  Here's the excerpt from his blog.

CHARLESTON, SC - No matter how long I stay in Charleston it always feels like I'm leaving too early. A class act city with history and southern charm to spare, I can feel the energy just by walking the downtown cobblestone streets. Had a great show there recently and hope to be back soon!

I really hope he plays in Charleston on his next tour, because he seems like he plays a fun live show.  He plays fake songs to the audience. I am quite of fan of him calling out a girl texting in the front row.

I should probably write that paper now...

Up in my lonely room when I'm dreaming of you...

Its a shame that I've barely touched my drawing pad these last few months.  February and March are usually prime animating months for me.  There are a few projects that I would really love to devote my time to.  I just re-read the script for the golf-tom-goes-to-the-mayor-esque flash.  Its a quality idea, maybe the best Mike and I have had. I have a test on Wednesday and 3 papers due this week so sadly I won't have extra time to get my animating going again.

On the way home from Hilton Head last night I explained to a uninterested Jeffrey the story in the Mariner's Revenge song.  I really love the imagery in storytelling in Decemberist's songs.  More so maybe then the actual music itself.  Now that would be a fun song to animate.  That would take so though. I think that song is 8 minutes long.

3 Songs

These are 3 songs I've been listening to lately that I really think are worth hearing

Excuses - by The Morning Benders

Darling, Its True - by Locksley

Paranoia in B Flat Major - by The Avett Brothers

Russel Hantz

Tonights survivor was absolutely fantastic.  Russell played such a bold move.  I have watched so much Survivor and he is definitely my favorite person I have seen play the game (Yule being the only one I would give the nod to as playing the game the best.)  Survivor is such a great show. More people should watch it. You would be surprised on how much you'd get into it.  I highly suggest watching this season. You can catch up. All the episodes are online.

The fucking man.

New Couch!

Well, new, old couch. Josh and I found a sweet new couch today.  One of our neighbors put it out on the street. It has a small tear in it but it is leather and comfortable. Someone probably died napping in it. I bet it is haunted.

It looks a little like this

Twitter is pretty useful these days. It is entertaining to check on my phone. All you have to do is follow Adam Schefter and you know everything that is going on in the NFL.  Chris Gore is also useful to follow because you can find out good information on movies.  I feel like if I followed a few more people who offered up good information like that, say for music, the NBA, and such, then I'd really be using twitter to its full potential.

Only watch movies he tells you to watch

I think I have broken my back...

Not really but this chair I have is slowly killing it. I really need to get a new chair for my desk. I should just get a giant bean bag chair.

Shit would be bitchin'

Studying has become a major problem for me. I'm supposed to be studying at the moment for a public speaking test.  This has been an up and down semester for tests for me.  I've gotten a few A's but I also just failed a history test. However, the entire class did very poorly on the history test.  That is relieving I guess.

For some reason when I google image searched test this came up

School is the least of my worries right now. I'm actually fine in all but 1 of my classes. All my problems revolve around money.  I need to find a job for the summer. That is going to suck. I have been fortunate in the jobs I have had in the past. I really hope I can continue that tradition.  Hopefully Jeffrey and I will be able to play music for restaurants.

I had a strange dream last night. For some reason Summer Glau was in it.  It iss odd because she was a minor character on a show I watched months ago. You'd think with all the television I watch, more random people like this would be in my dreams.  Its actually a very rare occurrence.

She is hot though, haha

All I want is your eyes...

I just watched an hour special on the Top 10 McDonalds or something like that.  It was pretty much the dumbest thing I've watched in a while.  This is why I do not just watch TV and only follow shows online. That and commercials, oh boy, half an hour of the hour program was commercials.

So Michael Showalter tweeted today that Michael and Michael Have Issues isn't being renewed.  It wasn't the hilarious genius that was Stella but I am still sad that it will not get a second season.  Some of the episodes were great.  That is the most mainstream I think they could make something and still use their basis of humor. At least Tim and Eric Awesome Show is still on. Great Job!

It's not a tumor!

New Locksley Album!
New Morning Benders Album!
Broken Bells Debut Album!
New Streetlight Manifesto Album!

Hooray March!

Speaking of Broken Bells. I regret not going out of my way to see the Shins when I had a chance.  Everyone was like, "The Shins are boring to see live."  I should of thought about it more. Maybe for a normal young-in they'd be a boring concert, but with music, at heart, I'm an old man.  Not that I wouldn't enjoy an exciting loud concert but just hearing music is good enough for me.  My personal preference: most concerts could be a little quieter.  My ears don't have to blow out every time I hear a live band.

Damn Hooligans!

Jazzercizing

Eat right, exercise, don't get fat. I have sort of an odd view towards exercising. I feel like jogging and lifting weights, while it will keep you in shape, is kind of a waste of time. Why not use exercising as a way to get better at some sort of game or sport. Because as we all know life is all about winning random games and shit.  Why jog when you can go throw and catch a frisbee. Why swim laps unless you're building up speed for Tornadeau (C). Why bike on one of those mounted bike thingys when you can go on an adventure. Get your shit together retards.

Married to the Sea

Cyanide and Happiness are gracing Newgrounds with the best flashes lately. Also I am quite enjoying the Art portal.

20 Mc Doubles

I feel like my blog is becoming very narcissistic. I just kind of write down my seemingly stubborn opinions of things. I do that not because I want to push my views on you but because I like reading the comments that call me an idiot and keep me grounded. So in the future of this blog I'll try to talk about some funnier subject matter, kthnxbai.

Matt found this and I love it!

Also, I've kind of realized after yesterday that I hate to love the Colts.

I hate the Oscars

I bitch about them every year, but I won't in this blog. I'll just do like a typical sort of analysis thing.

Who should win best picture out of the movies nominated?
Up, if it actually wins than this will probably be the first time in recent history that the best movie of the year actually wins. Thats really hard for me to say because there was a Star Trek movie this year.

Movie that is going to win best picture?
Avatar

Biggest snubs?
Zombieland and Star Trek for best pictures

Most unintentionally hilarious nomination?
Precious - more like Norbit 2 AMIRITE LOL

The picture was a masterpeice of comic timing...

I have an idea I might eventually carry out:

Step 1 - Create home page of a fake porn website

Step 2 - Make a gallery of porn pictures that are supposed to link to videos

Step 3 - Record a bunch of videos of me doing really mundane things, such as making a sandwich, brushing my teeth, putting on my shoes, playing x-box, etc.

Step 4 - Link all the porn pictures to the videos of me

Step 5 - Add comment feature to videos

Step 6 - Upload Website and wait

Step 7 - Read comments

Step 8 -

Darling, It's true

What is it that makes crime dramas so compelling to American audiences.  CSI is the most popular television show Nielson-ratings wise (besides the NFL of course).  Maybe its that each episode starts off incredibly unresolved.   You can't NOT KNOW who the murderer is.  I am not a fan of CSI or Law and Order but I definitely see the broad appeal. I love Monk and Psych which are basically the same thing except humorous and more light hearted.  I've recently started watching Castle which is kind of like a funny CSI.  I feel like mystery and crime must be a very common interest among media viewers no matter the characters or setting.

Upbeat

So I've pretty much been listening to very upbeat music lately. I'm pretty much in love with the song White Sky from Vampire Weekend's new album Contra.  I have also recently been listening to The 88. They did the theme song for the show Community. I was like, "Oh hai, I like this, and looked them up."  They kind of remind me of The Little Ones a bit.  Locksley is another band I have really liked lately.  They remind of an upbeat mix between the Libertines and Mando Diao.  I think they are releasing a new album in a few days.

Eigenharp

Its really nice to have fresh new music to listen to.  I was just getting to a point where I hadn't had new music for a few months and was incredibly bored of what I did have.  You probably don't care about any of the music specifically but I think everyone can relate to being in a fresh music slump.

Also Bowerbirds is a band I've recently started listening to.  They are like Andrew Bird not whistling and using a lot of accordion. Oh, and heres a really creepy drawing of a hot dog.

Vidjy Gameszz

I just started playing through Batman: Arkam Asylum. It is a pretty sweet game so far. I definitely recommend playing it. Maybe wait until its price goes down though. I'm bigger on single player games then I used to be.  You still don't get the kind of replay ability that you get with multi-player games.  Nothing beats a good ol' fashion game of Halo.  I am excited for Reach.  Halo 3 has run its course.

Lets have a Mario Party

I miss it

Too good not to get cancled!

Dollhouse is by far my favorite science fiction show on TV right now, even though it got canceled and is finishing its second but sadly last season.  It motivated me to check out Joss Whedon's previous show Firefly (Also Canceled), cause lets face it, I wasn't about to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  I've only watched two episodes and I am already hooked. Its quirky and exciting and suspenseful, a perfect sci-fi show.  The second episode someone gets kicked into a fucking engine.

Also, Steve the Pirate is in it.

I really hope that V doesn't get canceled after 1 season. Some critic said it was too slow. What a fucking idiot.  It is a quicker pace then most quality shows.  I guess the reason shows like this get canceled is due to sci-fi not being very main stream.  Heroes is really the only popular sci-fi show and frankly most episodes are more like a fucking soap opera where everyone has powers.  With Dollhouse I personally think it was Fox's fault.  They put it in the Friday night death spot after like 2 episodes.  Maybe if you put it at 10 when nothing else is fucking on any other weeknight it would not have gotten canceled.  A great quality show like Dollhouse doesn't have good enough ratings to stay on the air and fucking Glee is popular!  Makes me lose some faith in humanity.

Although, only half as faggy as Dollhouse's theme song

He's supposed to be 16?

The milk chug was today, an absolutely horrid event.  Not too reluctantly I decided not too participate.  My intense animosity towards throwing up greatly outweighed any small chance I had at winning the money.  There was an incredibly large turnout, a lot of odd people.  I guess those are the kind of people that would go to a milk chug. I'm glad Gage won.

              lol, fag

Just saw Youth in Revolt.  Meh.  The ending kind of saved the movie for me.  It just was not that funny.  I mean, don't get me wrong, there were some funny parts.  The movie felt underdeveloped.  It was a great concept and the clear highlights of the movie were whenever Michael Cera was with his alter-ego.  It felt like too small of a part of the movie.  Everything in the movie did!  Characters kept getting introduced but not utilized enough.  Zack Galifinakas, Justin Long, Fred Willard, and other characters should have been in the movie more.  The dialog was a tad strange and awkward, sometimes just taking away from the enjoyability of the movie. It did have some redeemable qualities I guess.  It wasn't entirely terrible and there were a few times I found my self laughing pretty hard.  I don't think it was worth seeing in theater but it could be an okay movie if you are bored one day. I'm just excited for Cera to go back to being George-Michael and the upcoming Arrested Development movie.

I think I accidentally started a new nickname for Charleston.  I was sitting at my computer about to type Chuck Town when I realized, "Wow, I hate that nickname," and just typed Chuckleston.  I hope it catches on and becomes the new nickname for the town.

Knickers

Golfed today. Not even close to being any good at it. I have only golfed a few times in my entire life.  It is too expensive of a hobby although I could see myself playing more regularly.   Not even close to as fun as disc golf. Only thing impeding my success as a golfer is straight up concentration.  The dilemma is not that I am not competitive, not at all, it just moves a little slow for me. Death would befall my sanity through 18 holes. 9 is just fine with me.

If I start playing golf more consistently I need to get me some ridiculous knickers.  That would be the only way to do it.

And a matching cap,

And some argyle socks,
